Nata per volere del sovrano Guglielmo III nel 1696, questa commissione di \"esperti\" nominati dalla corona, è considerata da parte della storiografia come un primo esperimento di \"governo tecnico delle colonie\". Partendo da un’analisi delle commissioni, dei comitati e dei consigli coloniali che hanno preceduto la nascita del Board of Trade, scopo del presente articolo è quello di evidenziare gli elementi caratterizzanti di questo organo tra XVII e XVIII secolo.   EN   During the 17th century the English monarchy, involved with the colonization of North America, created different institutions to handle the new territorial acquisitions. Among these institutions, particularly interesting was the \"Board of Trade and Plantations\". Created by King William III in 1696, this commission of \"experts\" appointed by the crown is considered by historians as a first experiment of \"technical government of the colonies\".
