Para ello se aportan 786 documentos notariales inéditos que arrojan nuevos datos y aspectos no estudiados anteriormente sobre la colonia, a saber: - La colonia griega bajo la dominación francesa de Menorca (1756-1763).\n- La segunda dominación británica o el esplendor de la colonia.\n- La actividad económica desplegada por los griegos de Menorca.\n- La actividad corsaria de la colonia durante los periodos 1778-1781 y 1799-1802.\n- Principales familias integrantes de la colonia.\n Por otra parte, dada la ausencia de trabajos de conjunto sobre el notariado en Menorca, la tesis aborda el estudio de la institución aprovechando la ingente documentación recopilada para la historia de la colonia. De este modo, se trata la historia del notariado en la isla desde su implantación con la conquista cristiana hasta el siglo XVIII. En otro apartado se analizan los diversos tipos de notarios y los auxiliares de las notarías documentados en dicha centuria. Después se aborda el sistema de redacción y protocolización de los instrumentos notariales. En otro apartado se intentan reconstruir las notarías que generaron los documentos para la historia de la colonia. Asimismo, se trata la retribución económica de los notarios durante el periodo en cuestión.
