Rappresenta uno dei monumenti più integri e significativi dell’architettura romanica in Sardegna. Tra le fonti documentarie riveste carattere di novità l’iscrizione graffita nell’abside con l’anno 1164 e il nome del vescovo Giovanni Thelle. Nella storia degli studi si è giunti a distinguere  tre fasi costruttive, che presentano caratteri distinti sia dal punto di vista formale sia rispetto ai materiali costruttivi (vulcaniti di vario tipo) e ai processi di alterazione e di degrado delle rocce.  The church of Sant’Antioco of Bisarcio (Ozieri) was cathedral of the homonym diocese from the XI to the XVI century. It re- presents one of the most preserved and meaningful monuments of the Romanesque architecture in Sardinia. Among the documentary sources it dresses character of novelty the epigraph in the apse with the year 1164 and bishop Giovanni Thelle’s name.
